Four models are needed – male or female and from any age group – but they must be available on a Monday afternoon between 1.45 and 3.45pm.
The session, in Rugeley, is to help promote the Mysteries and at the same time give the Phoenix photographers some portrait practise.
Costumes will be provided from the Mysteries’ huge collection.

Harvey Andrews - back again!!!

Mention the name Harvey Andrews to folk followers in the region and it will conjour up memories of great nights out, memorable music and lots of good humour.
Harvey retired from full-time concert performances in October 2012 with a series of concerts at The Guildhall, Lichfield – but now he’s back in the city to help raise funds for Lichfield Mysteries.
His one-man show - Glad to be Grey – is described as a ‘celebration of maturity, with songs, stories, humour and the occasional rant’.
Harvey always played to packed houses wherever he went and Lichfield Mysteries are delighted he’s doing this gig for us.
Harvey’s first gig was in 1964 and he has performed over 3500 times over a period of 50 years.
He has appeared in many festivals all over the world and written and sung theme songs for TV and films.
He collaborated on a successful musical depicting life growing up in Birmingham in the 40s and 50s. Written by Malcolm Stent, Go Play Up Your Own End has been well received across the Midlands, especially in its production in 2006 featuring Jasper Carrott in a major role.
His Glad to be Grey show has entertained audiences around the region. The show has been described as: ‘Absolutely fantastic! I have not enjoyed an evening so much for years’ – ‘Harvey’s a true entertainer’ and ‘a superb evening’s entertainment.’
The show in Lichfield is on Friday September 12, 8pm, at Lichfield City Football Club, Brownsfield Lane.
Tickets are £10 from 01543 506026 or email: jilltaylor@lichfieldmysteries.co.uk.

Face to face with 'Gluttony'

Meet 'Gluttony' who has just been very kindly donated to the Mysteries. He was created by Cliff Vawda who  was well known locally for his sculptures, many of which have been displayed in Lichfield Cathedral. Cliff's work is made more remarkable as he was blind.  Gluttony was created for an exhibition of artwork inspired by Lichfield Mysteries which was displayed in various venues around the city at the time of the 2012 Mysteries. Cliff sadly passed away last year and we would like to say a big thank you to his wife for letting us have Gluttony -  you will be able to see him from time to time when we are at events and as part of future Mysteries art exhibitions. He's rather jolly so do come and say hello - in the photo he's having a ride in my car!

Lichfield Mysteries has a busy week

at the Crossroads, bible burlesque and the blues
Many thanks to everyone who came along to the Garrick and supported our production. Read a review here. It's been really exciting to create a brand new play and see it develop from initial conversations and ideas to performance. A big well done to the cast who worked really hard, contributed so many ideas -  and had lots of fun! We've made an excellent connection with Fired Up Theatre so are looking forward to more community arts collaborations in the future.

DMS Whittington Families Day

The new Defence Medical Services facility at Whittington was officially opened last week by the Duchess of Cornwall. As part of the celebrations a large number of local community groups and businesses had stalls to promote their work to the new service personnel and their families who are moving to Whittington. Aside from the torrential rain, we had a very jolly day and were very well looked after by the staff.
The rain did stop for Camilla!

The children enjoyed trying out our hats and costumes
